Software Requirements – PB Docs 2022

The following table
lists the software required for PowerBuilder
features.

Install any required framework packages
and SDKs before you install PowerBuilder. Microsoft developer
software is available from the Microsoft
Download Center.

Read this table carefully to
determine whether you need to install any software before you
run the installer. If you select a feature with a pre-installed
prerequisite but the software is not yet installed, the
installer displays a warning message.

PowerBuilder demo applications and
databases

SQL Anywhere 12/16/17,
PostgreSQL 12/13/14/15, SQL Server
2016/2017/2019/2022.

An ODBC driver will
be used to connect with the demo database.

To use
the PostgreSQL engine, make sure both the PostgreSQL client
(included in Command Line Tools of the PostgreSQL
Windows installer) and PostgreSQL ODBC driver (32-bit
& 64-bit) are installed.

To use the SQL Server
engine, make sure the Database Engine Services and Client Tools
Connectivity features are installed.

If the
installer does not detect SQL Anywhere, PostgreSQL, or SQL
Server on your computer, it displays a warning. If you choose to
continue, the installer will install the demo database files but
will not set up the database connection automatically. You can
manually configure the database connection by following
instructions in Installing
PowerBuilder demo applications and
database.

MobiLink™ synchronization

Adaptive Server® Anywhere
9.0.2 to SQL Anywhere 17.

MobiLink is a
component of Adaptive Server Anywhere and SQL Anywhere. In the
SQL Anywhere setup program, select Synchronization and
Messaging, and then MobiLink.
