PowerBuilder Generation dialog box – PB Docs 2021

PowerBuilder Generation dialog box

Description

Use this dialog box to select the classes in a class diagram
that you want to generate as objects in a PowerBuilder target.

Dialog options

PowerBuilder target file name

You cannot change the target file name that you generate from
this dialog box. You must change it in the TargetPath extended attribute
of the object-oriented model. By default, the PowerBuilder target
that you generate will have the same name as the OOM file, but with
a PBT extension.

Drop-down list for generation options

If the OOM file is not already linked to an existing PowerBuilder
target, the only option available is to create a new PowerBuilder
target. If the OOM file is already linked, you must select from
one of the following options: Replace selected PowerBuilder objects (default),
Replace selected PowerBuilder libraries and objects, or Replace existing
PowerBuilder target.

Check Model for PowerBuilder

Select this check box to validate the model for PowerBuilder
before you generate it.

Backup PowerBuilder Libraries (PBL -> PB_)

Select this check box to save the current library with a PB_ extension
before regenerating PBLs from OOM packages. If the OOM file is not
already linked to an existing PBT, this check box is grayed and
you cannot select it.

Main Package

If you generate a PowerBuilder target from a previously unlinked
OOM, this drop-down list box provides the names of all the packages in
the OOM, allowing you to designate which package is to be used to
generate the target application. If an OOM is already linked to
a PowerBuilder target, the main package is displayed, but cannot
be changed.

Classes listed in the dialog box tree view

Expand the package and model listed in the tree view to display
classes that you want to generate selectively as PowerBuilder objects.
Select the check box next to each class you want generate.

The check box next to a model listing serves as a Select All
or Deselect All button for the classes in the current class diagram.
