Migrating PowerSite projects to a Web target

Projects created in PowerSite can be migrated to a Web target
with the help of a migration wizard. You must close the PowerSite
project before you attempt to migrate it.

Web targets (other than JSP targets) work in much the same
way as projects do in PowerSite, with one major difference: Web
targets do not use the Component Manager. Instead, Web targets can
use any SCC-compliant source control system that you configure from
your workspace property sheet.

note.gif Required for migration You must maintain an accessible copy of your Component Manager
database in order to migrate your PowerSite projects. If you are
migrating a remote project, you must start the Component Manager
database server on the remote machine (without opening the project
in PowerSite).

proc.gif To migrate a PowerSite project to a Web target:

  1. From an open PowerBuilder workspace, select File>New.

    or

Right-click a workspace name, then select New from the
    pop-up menu.

  2. On the Target page of the New dialog box, select
    Migrate PowerSite 7.0 Project.

  3. Follow the wizard instructions to migrate your
    PowerSite project.
