Exception object – PB Docs 150

Exception object

The Exception object inherits from the Throwable object
and is the base class for user-defined or “checked” exceptions.
A function or user-defined event must declare each checked exception
it throws, and a caller to a function or event that throws a checked
exception must either catch the exception or throw the exception
itself.

Unlike RuntimeError objects, Exception objects do not have
built-in properties that provide information about the location
where the error occurred.

The CORBAUserException system object inherits from Exception.
This object maps to the CORBA_USER_EXCEPTION object
that can be thrown from CORBA applications when user-defined exceptions
have not been handled. Unlike the CORBASystemException object and
its descendants, the CORBAUserException object is a checked exception
and must be declared and caught like other checked exceptions.
